about

I'm Chuka.

Nigerian-born, raised between Port Harcourt, Boston, and Lagos, Austin-based now. For as long as I can remember I've wanted to know how things work. I still take things apart to find out, and I usually know how I want something to end before I know how to get there.

I spent a stretch as Hacker in Residence at Techstars in London, then had stints designing at startups like PlayCanvas, Quickblox, and Drizly. I was at the Disney accelerator in LA when Childish Gambino pulled me out to design the rollout for Because the Internet. It got a Grammy nomination. That project became Integral Studio, where we went on to partner with Mac Miller, Metro Boomin, SZA, and 21 Savage: bespoke campaigns, advanced fan targeting, and eventually AI to push artist and label services into the future.

In 2021 we turned what we'd been doing by hand into a product. SymphonyOS is the agent company of music. Its agents find artists new fans and new revenue, and Ye, Summer Walker, and Colbie Caillat are among the artists using it. I'm a co-founder there and help shape the product into revenue.

These days I run Integral Studio and SymphonyOS. This is where I write about design, product, technology, and culture, which is to say the four things I can't stop thinking about.

Forbes wrote about us once. I mention it here, and then we can all move on.
